Dr. Schatz attended the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1977 - 1979 and earned his M.D. in July 1982 - June 1984 he went on to earn his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Irvine and Veterans Administration Hospital Long Beach. In 2008 he attended Duke University for his preceptorship in Intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography.
Dr. Schatz then attended Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas for the hands-on Pacemaker Implantation co-sponsored by St. Jude Medical in 2011. Dr. Schatz is a member of the University of Southern California Medical Alumni Association and Fellow, American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Schatz is fluent in both English and Spanish. During his free time, he enjoys blues harmonica, trail biking, hiking, water sports, and reading and writing.
