  • You have as little as two minutes to safely escape a burning home
  • On average, seven people die every day in the United States from a home fire

At no cost to you, we would like to share some simple steps you can take at home that will help you protect your family against fire. In addition, the Red Cross will install FREE smoke alarms within your home as needed. Visits generally last 20 minutes and can be scheduled at your convenience. To schedule your visit, call (760) 384-8230.

All demonstrations and installation services will be performed by Red Cross trained volunteers.

Volunteers are needed
Volunteers are needed for this lifesaving community outreach effort. Individuals, faith-based groups, local businesses, and organizations are welcome to participate. Working in teams, volunteers install smoke alarms, review a fire safety and home hazard checklist and provide information about creating a fire escape plan with residents.
Training is provided.
Please call (760) 384-8230.
