Congratulations to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital’s Emergency Department for being awarded a trophy at the BETA Healthcare Group Symposium.
“Our award consisted of two tiers. The first tier was achieved by all our staff successfully completing the training and modules for recognizing, diagnosing and treating high-risk chest pain.
The second tier was two parts, with the first part focusing on maintaining patient safety with fall risk assessments and providing appropriate precautions. Our second tier focused on the early recognition with Septic alerts. We took an extra step and teamed up with EMS and created in the field septic alerts.
This step allowed us to be the first in the county to start recognizing and treating early septic warning signs and follow up care in the ER for early detection and treatment of sepsis. At least 250,000 people die from sepsis every year, 1 in 3 patients who die in the hospital have sepsis.“, said Breanne Chromi, Manager of Emergency Department at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
