Plans Announced for the Consolidation of RRH Pediatrics

Tuesday, June 4, 2019, RIDGECREST, Calif. - Ridgecrest Regional Hospital (RRH) has announced that it will consolidate its two pediatric clinics on July 1, 2019, to form one pediatric practice under the hospital’s name.

The hospital currently operates two separate Pediatric offices under the Rural Health and Southern Sierra Medical clinics. The consolidation will see the hospital pool all pediatric resources to better serve its patients.

RRH consolidated Pediatric providers will include:

  • Richelle Azores, MD
  • Luigi Cendana, DO
  • Andrew Modic, MD
  • Sherel Ott, FNP-C

Additional pediatric support is also provided from visiting pediatricians, Joseph Cramer, MD and Cinthya Del Castillo MD.

RRH also revealed that a pediatric urgent care is in the plans for the new location, slated to open fall 2019.

“The hospital is actively recruiting additional pediatricians to meet the growing needs of the community, said RRH Administrator Michelle Whalley. We have interviewed 5 experienced and well qualified Pediatricians and hope to have more details very soon as to new additions. We are excited to consolidate and grow our Pediatric practice, we want to provide convenience for our patients, and their busy parents - one stop for all your needs.”

Lori Tiffany, Rural Health Clinic Manager added: “It is extremely exciting for us to be establishing one large pediatric practice. This will improve availability and access for our patients and will help us meet the unique healthcare needs of our community. We are working hard to build a solid healthcare service for our children and the generations to come.”

In addition, RRH has announced that July 31, 2019, will be the last day of practice for Aisha Rollins, MD, who has been seeing patients under the Southern Sierra Medical Clinic and will be leaving to pursue new career opportunities. Daphne Unhassobiscay, Director of Community Care Clinics said: “This is a new and exciting career opportunity for Dr. Rollins. We are fortunate to have had her expertise over the past 5 years and we thank her for the excellent care she provided to our community.”

RRH Pediatrics will be located at the hospital’s North Medical Plaza, where the Rural Health Pediatrics clinic is currently based and is welcoming new patients.
