📢 RRH Covid-19 Advisory & Response (7.29.21):
We have enjoyed a return to more “normal" operations since California retired its “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” on June 15. In the last six weeks, our trips to the store, to work, to restaurants and other businesses have felt more like they did before COVID-19 put widespread restrictions and limitations on our activities.
Unfortunately, the increased risk due to the Delta variant and low vaccination rates have contributed to a 6.9 percent increase in our positivity rates at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. In order to protect our patients, employees and the community, we are preparing for another potential surge by encouraging individuals to adhere to the newly updated guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and California Department of Public Health. These recommendations include masking for indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status. At RRH, we have reinstated some of our previous safety protocols, including suspending in-person outreach programs (with the exception of Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s.)
We know how important it is for our patients to have visits from their families, so we have not yet changed our visitor’s policy
However, we urge individuals not to visit if they are feeling unwell. Screenings will continue upon entry to the hospital. All visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times.
RRH is working to make vaccines more accessible for those who have not yet received them. Information on drive-thru vaccination clinics, updated COVID-19 rates and changing guidance will be published as it becomes available. For more information go to RRH.ORG/COVID19VACCINE
