Andrew J. Modic, MD

About

Dr. Andrew Modic is Chair of Inpatient Medicine at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, where he cares for both adults and children in the clinic and hospital. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, he first came to Ridgecrest through the National Health Service Corps and returned in 2023 after several years with the Indian Health Service on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Dr. Modic believes every patient deserves to feel respected and care for, especially during serious illness—a principle he brings to both his clinical work and his leadership of the hospital's inpatient team. His contributions have been recognized with the IHS Director's Award for Pandemic Heroism and the Les Sockwell Humanitarian Award.

He completed residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama where he served as Chief Resident, earned his MD from the University of Connecticut, and holds a B.S. In Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia with High Distinction. Outside the hospital, he enjoys reading, woodworking, home improvement projects, and caring for his animals.
