Gastroenterology
Digestive Health Services
When your stomach is causing you problems, making an appointment with a gastroenterologist should be one of your top priorities. At RRH, we offer comprehensive gastroenterology services close to home in Ridgecrest from a team of highly skilled and experienced providers.
Gastroenterologists specialize in the treatment of diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal system. This includes the stomach, esophagus, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. The cause of stomach pains can be notoriously difficult to diagnose, and they are not always tied directly to the stomach itself. Our gastroenterologists are very familiar with various types of stomach pain and their most common causes. They can walk you through the diagnostic procedures that can most likely find the root cause of your condition.
People frequently seek out treatment from a gastroenterologist for help with the following symptoms:
- Difficulty swallowing
- Frequent heartburn
- Severe diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Blood in stool
- Constipation
- Frequent bouts of nausea and vomiting
- Unexplained weight loss
- Hemorrhoids
- Stomach ulcers
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Acid Reflux
- Crohn’s Disease
- Gerd
- Gallstones
Services provided:
- Inflammatory and irritable bowel disease

Screenings & Preventative Health Services
In addition to providing treatment for existing stomach problems, RRH’s gastroenterologists can also provide you with preventative health and screening services. A common reason people visit the gastroenterologist even when they aren’t feeling sick is for a routine colonoscopy. Colonoscopies are used to check the health of the lower intestines and colons. It is recommended that you receive a colonoscopy every ten years if you are over the age of 50.
Our gastroenterologists also provide cancer screenings for colorectal, intestinal, and esophageal cancer. If someone in your family has had one of these cancers, then your risk factors are higher and you should be sure to stay on top of your screenings.
The RRH gastroenterology team will be happy to answer any of your questions about digestive health. Our goal is to keep you and your family in good health for years to come.
