Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Round-the-Clock Care for Patients Who Need it Most

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital provides personalized care for every patient in the hospital who requires ICU services. You can rest assured that if you or a loved one are placed into the ICU at RRH, they will be given the attentive care they need from specially trained medical staff. We offer a nurse-to-patient ratio of two patients to one nurse, and we encourage family participation in the plan of care and treatment of patients.

We focus on patients who:

  • Require ventilation support
  • Require cardiac monitoring
  • Require hemodynamic monitoring (observing how the cardiovascular system responds to illness, injury, and therapeutic intervention)
  • Have undergone cardiac procedures such as pacemaker implantation and cardiac ultrasound procedures (echocardiography)

Our ICU staff is a highly trained, compassionate team consisting of Registered Nurses with advanced training in Critical Care and Licensed Vocational Nurses or Certified Nursing Assistants who help the Registered Nurse in caring for our patients.

Visiting Policies

We are open 9:00am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-6:00pm

We allow two visitors at the bedside at a time. Limiting visitors allows the patient to get better rest which promotes healing. We ask that visitors be 12 years or older to visit; however, special arrangements may be made depending on the circumstances. Please ask your nurse if there is a special reason to allow a younger child at the bedside. Decisions will be made by the nurse depending on the situation.

With our large, comfortable waiting area, larger groups can watch TV, read, or request access to our Guest Wireless Internet while they wait to switch out with the visitors at the bedside.
