Building a Healthy, Personalized Diet
While pre-built diets you find online and health magazines may have been built on some research and anecdotal evidence, the truth is that it is unlikely any of these diets will be an ideal choice for you. This is because there is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” diet. Every person is unique, and your body type and medical history play a major role in what constitutes a good diet for you.
At RRH, we have a registered dietitian on staff who can help you build a diet that was customized to meet your unique goals and nutritional needs. A registered dietitian is a trained professional who has met rigorous standards established by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Our food and nutrition services include:
- Medical Nutritional Therapy
- Progressive nutrition education for patients, staff and the community
- The “Say Yes to Less” weight loss program that runs every spring
- Speaking engagement at community groups
- Diabetes Education
- Senior Meals – low cost dinner meals offered daily. Must sign up.
When helping you create your diet, we will ask you questions about your medical history and what you hope to accomplish with a new diet. We will then work with you to build a nutritional plan that is both healthy and fits your personal tests.
Nutritional Services in the Hospital
As a patient at RRH, you will have access to highly nutritious meals prepared by our skilled staff. Specialized menus are available for children and patients with special nutritional needs, such as cardiac, low sodium, or diabetic requirements.
