FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is integrative medicine?

A holistic approach to healthcare that combines conventional medicine with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) to address a patient’s whole health— physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

2. What conditions can you treat?

We help treat conditions including chronic pain, stress, digestive disorders, sleep disturbances, cardiovascular disease, fatigue, cancer, autoimmune disorders, depression and mood disorders, and more.

3. How is integrative medicine different from conventional medicine?

We take a holistic approach to health. After all, people are unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. We address the root causes of illness and promote overall wellness. Conventional medicine, on the other hand, typically focuses on mainly treating physical symptoms with drugs or surgery.

4. What types of treatments do you use?

We use a combination of conventional medical treatments and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies such as herbal medicine, supplements, mindfulness activities, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle coaching.

5. Is integrative medicine safe?

Integrative medicine treatments are generally safe when performed by trained healthcare professionals. We work with your primary physicians to ensure our treatments help your progress and don’t cause interactions with your conventional treatments.

6. How will integrative medicine help me feel better?

We help improve well-being and quality of life by treating you like whole person—not just a medical condition. We give you the tools to take an active role in your own health and well-being. We can help you improve your symptoms, increase the effectiveness of your other medical treatments…and simply feel better overall.

7. Who can provide integrative medicine treatments?

Integrative medicine treatments can be performed by healthcare professionals with training in both conventional medicine and complementary and alternative medicine. Our integrative medicine team is made up of highly qualified practitioners with experience in a variety of disciplines.

8. Does your clinic accept insurance?

Yes. We accept the same insurance as other Ridgecrest Regional Hospital clinics and departments.
