Job Description
We are seeking a
General Surgeon to join our team as an
Independent Contractor. This position is ideally full time at 40 hours per week; however, alternative
block schedule arrangements may be considered based on candidate availability
and organizational needs.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and skilled provider with a
strong commitment to delivering high-quality care. Responsibilities include
diagnosing and treating conditions within general surgery, collaborating
with a multidisciplinary team, and performing procedures or consultations
as needed.
The position includes an on-call requirement of 15 days per month, including
16-hour weekday call and 24-hour weekend call. Candidates must remain
within the vicinity while on call.
Patient Care & Treatment
- Provide expert care for general surgery patients
- Conduct patient consultations, exams, and evaluations
- Perform procedures in office and hospital settings
- Develop and communicate treatment plans
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals on inpatient consults
- Maintain EMR records
- Order and interpret diagnostics
- Maintain a reasonable patient load for quality outcomes
Collaborative Teamwork
- Work with multidisciplinary teams
- Leverage assistants and scribe services to reduce administrative burden
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative environment
Qualifications
- MD/DO from an accredited institution
- Active California medical license or ability to obtain
- Excellent bedside manner
- Board certification or eligibility
