Andrew J. Modic, MD

About

Dr. Andrew Modic is proud to work in Ridgecrest, CA. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Modic has spent years caring for patients in Ridgecrest, whether it’s in the hospital or the clinic. He is always ready to listen and help however he can. He first came to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital through the National Health Service Corps, drawn by the chance to serve a community that has come to mean a lot to him.

After a couple of years working with the Indian Health Service on the Pine Ridge Reservation, Dr. Modic felt the pull to return to Ridgecrest in 2023. The people here, neighbors, families, and friends, are what make his work rewarding. As Chair of Inpatient Medicine, he prioritizes ensuring that every patient feels respected and cared for, regardless of their age or background, especially during times of serious illness.

Dr. Modic has been awarded the IHS Director’s Award for Pandemic Heroism and the Les Sockwell Humanitarian Award. He was also a Co-Chief Resident at the University of South Alabama’s Internal Medicine-Pediatric Residency program. He earned his MD from the University of Connecticut and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia with High Distinction. Outside of work, you’ll find him reading, wood-working, making home repairs or hanging out with his rescue Chihuahua, Poncho.
