Ridgecrest Regional Hospital had a big week for advocacy. Last Tuesday, Congressman Vince Fong, Assemblyman Stan Ellis, and Assemblyman Tom Lackey joined RRH and local Navy leadership for a debrief on the hospital’s efforts to secure funding to sustain critical healthcare services in the Indian Wells Valley. The following day, acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) C. Scott Duncan toured the hospital with CEO James Suver, who discussed how changes in healthcare policies and reimbursements have created a fiscal challenge for rural and remote hospitals like RRH. “We appreciate the opportunity to meet with our state and federal leaders and other decision-makers who understand the essential role RRH plays in supporting the Navy mission. For the sake of everyone in our community, our team will continue to evaluate every possible partnership that will allow us to secure funding and support for healthcare in our community,” said Suver.
