About TCRU

Short-term care, built to get you home.

TCRU is the bridge between the hospital and home. After a surgery, procedure, or hospital stay, you may not be quite ready for home — but you don't need to stay in acute care either. TCRU gives you a comfortable space to recover at your own pace, with your care team coming to you and your family welcome all day.

TCRU is not a nursing home or long-term care. We serve adults of all ages — whether you're 30 or 70 — who just need a bit more support before heading home.

How to qualify

To be admitted, you must meet at least one of these:

  • A qualifying hospital stay within the last 30 days, or
  • A current stay in a skilled nursing unit (SNF)

You can come to us from another hospital, a doctor's referral, a SNF transfer, or on your own — you don't need a doctor to start the process.

Not sure if TCRU is right for you?

Just call us. We'll help you figure out the right option — even if that's somewhere else. For patients who need long-term or permanent placement, Bella Sera may be a better fit.

What We Offer

Care that comes to you.

Short-Term Care

Recovery and rehabilitation for adults of all ages — whether you're 30 or 70. Built for shorter stays, so you can get back home when you're ready.

Post-Surgery Recovery

Recovering from knee, hip, shoulder, wrist, cardiac, or other surgeries. Your surgery doesn't need to have been performed at RRH.

Wound Care

Complex or ongoing wound care delivered by specialists — right in the unit, no travel needed.

IV Antibiotic Therapy

Extended IV antibiotic courses for patients who no longer need full hospital-level care but aren't ready to go home.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy sessions delivered in the unit. No scheduling rides or traveling across town.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy to help you regain the skills you need to live independently — all on-site.

Case management & insurance help

Our social services team can help with insurance questions, Medi-Cal applications, and pre-authorization. We'll handle the paperwork so you can focus on getting better.

Short-term respite care for caregivers

If your family member is on home hospice and you need a short break, we may be able to help. Call us to talk through options.
