Pink Ladies / Blue Men

Pink Ladies and Blue Men volunteers at RRH

RRH is deeply grateful for the self–sacrificing service of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. The Pink Ladies and Blue Men have raised money for needed equipment and donated thousands of hours serving our patients, visitors, and staff.

Our Purpose

The Pink Ladies Auxiliary was founded by Jan Hoagland in 1958. In 2009, men joined the group. The Auxiliary is devoted to offering personal support to our staff, patients, and their families.

We have three main purposes:

  • Provide assistance in clinical settings
  • Raise funds for needed equipment and scholarships
  • Inform the public about the many services of the hospital

Our Impact

Since the Auxiliary was founded, volunteers have made donations totaling over $200,000 (inflation adjusted). In recent years, we’ve contributed toward the purchase of an Ultrasound machine and High Definition Scopes, and we award scholarships every year to students in the LVN and RN programs at Cerro Coso Community College.

Our funds come from:

  • Proceeds from the Gift Shop in the hospital
  • Private donations
  • Selling tickets for the Community Fair and Dinner

What We Do

Our volunteers give their time in many ways across the hospital:

  • Deliver newspapers, coffee, and flowers to patients
  • Staff the Information Desk and assist with wheelchairs
  • Manage and staff the Gift Shop
  • Work at the Health Fair
  • Make tray favors for patients during holidays
  • Provide assistance at the Bella Sera Skilled Nursing Facility

Gift Shop Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm
