Obstetrics & Prenatal Care

Providing You the Personal Care You Need During Pregnancy

(Update: The RRH labor and delivery program will be suspended effective March 1, 2024. The following link includes the announcement and a list of answers to anticipated questions surrounding this development.)

Having a baby is an exciting experience and one you will want to be prepared for. At RRH, our obstetricians strive to provide personalized care for women during their pregnancy. We want to help you have the birth experience you envision, and we will be by your side through every stage of your pregnancy to answer your questions and provide support.

What Does an Obstetrician Do?

Obstetricians specialize in pregnancy healthcare and management, as well as the labor and birthing processes. When you decide to try and become pregnant, you should meet with an obstetrician so they can tell you more about what to expect and how you can keep yourself and your baby healthy. This meeting will also give you a chance to discuss the birthing process, and what kind of delivery you want to strive for: all-natural, with pain medications, etc.

Your obstetrician will serve as your primary resources for pregnancy health and wellness. Topics you might discuss include:

  • What is a C-section and when is it necessary?
  • How can I stay healthy during my pregnancy?
  • What should I expect during each stage of pregnancy?
  • How will I know if there’s a problem with me or my developing baby?
  • How often should I be visiting the doctor?
  • How can I prepare for labor and delivery?
  • Is there any reason why I should not get pregnant?

When choosing an obstetrician, it’s important that you can find someone who listens to you and that you feel you can trust. Pregnancy is a physical, mentally, and emotionally demanding process, and you will want to have a compassionate support team that you can rely on.
